Witness is an annual concert put on by VocalEssence, celebrating the under-represented work of black composers. Witness 2005 focused on the life of Gordon Parks. Sequences of still images and video clips were triggered at specific points during the performance to enhance the narritive. The result was a moving story with on-stage actors, compelling sound, and projected images.

The video controller we authored used Max/MSP and an electronic cue sheet to keep in time with lighting changes and stage activity. Some video montage sequences were created from timelapse footage and historical society photographs.
